BCMA Names New CEO
The BCMA announced today that Allan Seckel, QC has been selected as the new CEO for the BCMA. He will assume his responsibilities effective October 31, 2011. A search for a new CEO followed the decision by current CEO, Dr. Mark Schonfeld, to retire after 16 years with the Association.
Seckel has had a distinguished career as a lawyer and a senior leader within the BC Provincial Government. Most recently he was Head of the BC Public Service, Cabinet Secretary and Deputy Minister to the Premier. He was also Deputy Attorney General and prior to joining government he was with the law firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin.
“The BCMA is very pleased to have been able to attract someone of Mr. Seckel’s stature and experience,” said Nasir Jetha. “His experience at the most senior levels of government will be an asset to us and help him in making a smooth transition in his role as CEO.”
