BC’s health care system is in crisis. Nearly one million British Columbians do not have a family doctor. Nearly one million people are on wait lists to receive care from a specialist, often with increasing pain while their conditions worsen. Physicians are facing unprecedented levels of burnout and stress due to the immense challenges they face to provide care, not to mention the moral distress they feel when they continue to see patients suffering despite their best efforts.

We believe that physicians' voices are critical to developing solutions. Doctors of BC takes seriously our responsibility to represent and advocate for all our members, family doctors and specialists. While physicians often have unique needs, they are all united in their commitment to patients.

In this section of the website, we are sharing with you the work Doctors of BC is doing to advocate for all of our members - in partnership with other physician groups and our grassroots physician members.
