The Practice Support Program (PSP)  supports  doctors to build capacity in their clinical practices, enabling them to practice more efficiently and focus more on clinical care and patient relationships. As part of its goal to promote quality improvement, it helps practices adopt attributes of the patient medical home  and to strengthen team-based care within primary care networks
 
PSP's in-practice supports are tailored to the needs of a practice and its patients and are available to doctors and their practice teams. These include:

To recognize and support doctors who undertake practice improvement work, PSP provides:
  • Evidence-based learning content to increase confidence.
  • Compensation to recognize time spent to change practices.
  • Certification to acknowledge new or advanced skills and abilities.
  • A high-calibre team of skilled professionals to guide GPs on their practice improvement journey.
PSP is an initiative of the Family Practice Services Committee, a joint partnership of Doctors of BC and the government of BC.
