Doctorsofbc.ca takes on a new look
It’s been a long time coming, but after much anticipation I am excited to introduce the newly redesigned Doctors of BC website. The creation of this new website is part of our commitment to better engage with our members, and to provide services that are of value to you. The redesign will also allow us to better profile how, through partnerships and innovation, doctors are making a meaningful difference for the profession and for their patients.
At the beginning of this process, we identified the major drawbacks of our old website – it wasn’t engaging and it provided no personalized experience or interactivity for our members. This new website addresses these issues and provides a primary engagement tool to increase personalization, customization and interactivity. It is a resource centre not only to show you, our members, the value of your membership, but also to show our partners the value we as physicians bring to the health care system as a whole.
A few key features you will see are:
- Personalized news feed based on member’s indicated areas of interest
- “My Favourites” block in which members can bookmark pages within the site to their homepage
- “Contact the Board” page where each delegate’s information is automatically displayed based on the member’s address
- Polls for members to weigh in on various topics
- The ability to comment on President’s Letters and President’s blog posts
- Customized navigation depending on the services members have subscribed to (ie. Insurance, TELUS)
An organization’s website is typically its first touchpoint with members, and we hope to greatly enhance your user experience by providing timely, relevant and engaging content through the new doctorsofbc.ca. However, as with many things in life, websites are always a work in progress and further adjustments will be made as we move forward with the new site.
