Let’s dance - BC doctors working with kids to get active

September 30, 2016

BC doctors are visiting a number schools around the province this month to encourage kids to get active and make healthy choices. It’s all part of the Doctors of BC annual Be Active Every Day campaign, which will challenge over 5,000 elementary students to get and stay active 60 minutes a day for the month of October.

This year, the theme is “How to Be a Dance Star”. Kids will learn a series of easy dance moves to the tune of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. The goal is to show kids that you can be active and have fun at the same time. Kids don’t need to have dance experience   because suggested activities cover a range of ways to get out and have fun. They will also learn about the importance of good health, nutrition, and fitness from a medical perspective. The goal is to make a lasting impact on children and help them turn healthy choices into healthy habits.

By sending a picture or short 15-30 second video of your best dance moves into Doctors of BC, your moves may be featured on the Doctors of BC website AND all kids around the province who submit will be entered to win a prize. Send your picture to .

Keep watching this page, as we’ll be updating it with pictures and videos throughout the month.
