Dr Bill Cavers becomes Doctors of BC President

Dr Bill Cavers, a family physician in Victoria for over 30 years, has become the President of Doctors of BC for the 2014/15 term.

The theme of his presidency will be: “Physician leadership in times of change.” In representing the province’s 12,000 physicians, Dr Cavers told an audience at this year’s Annual General Meeting that he will focus on three key areas:

1. Supporting the doctor-patient relationship, with patients as full partners in care
2. Supporting specialists to have a stronger voice in decision-making within Health Authorities
3. Supporting innovation through technology
