Doctors of BC Health Promotion Awards: Who has improved the health of your community?

February 6, 2015

For more than 20 years, Doctors of BC has honoured groups and individuals who make our province a healthier, safer place to live.  Each year we celebrate these achievements by presenting the annual Health Promotion Awards to an inspiring individual, non-profit organization, or corporation.

Do you know of a group or an individual who is improving the health of their community, is making a positive impact to a particular population, or who actively promotes disease prevention and health lifestyle initiatives? Let’s recognize that dedication and nominate them for a Health Promotion Award!

Last year Dr Gulzar Cheema won an Individual Award of Excellence for his outstanding and continuing work educating the Indo-Canadian population in his community of Surrey, BC about cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and mental health issues.

Bounceback was last year’s recipient of the non-profit Award of Excellence for its work helping thousands of British Columbians develop hands on, self-help skills to manage their mild to moderate stress, anxiety, and depression issues.

Who will be our award winners this year? We are looking to British Columbians for the answer! Please visit the Health Promotion Awards webpage for more information regarding eligibility and to complete our nomination form. We can receive nominations until April 17!
