Re-referral informational webinar: Understand upcoming changes to the re-referral process

In recent years concerns have increased in relation to re-referrals. The existing rules have been identified as confusing and burdensome to both physicians and patients. In late 2022, per the new Physician Master Agreement (PMA), the Consultation Working Group (CWG) was modified to create the Consultation and Referral Working Group (CRWG), with the mandate to review and recommend changes to the MSC Payment Schedule to address the re-referral problems. 

Through the collaborative efforts of the CRWG an essential new process was created: the combination of the implicit re-referral and the subsequent consultation. Referrals now include a potential implicit re-referral for the same problem unless a re-referral is specifically excluded.
