Webinar: Introduction to Understanding your Mini Profile

The Doctors of BC Audit and Billing Education Series brings family physicians and specialists together for diverse learning and networking opportunities.

Throughout the series, attendees will participate in education sessions to assist them with a range of activities to enhance their knowledge of audit and billing practices, including administration, practice management, and quality improvement. As experience and knowledge varies, modules can be customized to provide the education that is required. These modules are designed to enhance physicians’ ability to positively affect change and improve their practice. All sessions in the series are accredited by UBC CPD.

The first session in the series is Introduction to Understanding Your Mini Profile, including information about:

  • Review the purpose of the mini profile.
  • Discuss the types of practice and practice determination.
  • Review the mini profile demographics.
  • Interpret flags on the mini profile.
  • Discuss the impact of ICD9 codes on your mini profile.
  • Review the burden of illness and comorbidity conditions and continuity of care measures.
  • Identify and summarize potential audit risks.

The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. This activity is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD. You may claim a maximum of 4.5 hours (credits are automatically calculated). This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by UBC CPD for up to 4.5 Mainpro+® credits.
