Stepping up for good health: BC doctors and patients get moving to promote a healthy lifestyle

April 11, 2024

Walk with your Doc, Doctors of BC’s annual public health campaign that gets British Columbians moving, is back again this year to build community relationships and show that BC doctors “walk the talk.” Since 2009, Walk with your Doc has supported doctors throughout the province to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle by walking with patients in an informal and social gathering.

Taking place May 11–19, 2024, interested doctors are encouraged to sign up to lead a walk in their community. Once registered you will receive everything you need to organize a successful event, including WWYD t-shirts, promotional posters, participant gifts, and more. Walks can be limited to a small group of patients or can be expanded to include your local division of family practice, local city councils, public health partners, and community members – there is no designated event size.

For the public, you can find an event near you on our Walk with your Doc webpage – all you need to do is show up and be ready to walk.
