Sections and societies are independent non-profit groups that support the health and well-being of patients, communities, and health care systems.

Specialist sections represent the unique interests of each medical specialty within Doctors of BC, and the recognition and duty of each section is stated under Section 4.1 & 4.3 of the 2022 Constitution and Bylaws of the Doctors of BC (BCMA).

Members have the opportunity to shape policy, develop educational initiatives, and collaborate on advocacy efforts through their respective sections, as well as through the Doctors of BC Physician Master Agreement (PMA) Negotiations and the Representative Assembly.

Regardless of career stage, practice setting, or background, members can

  • network with peers,
  • consult experts on challenging cases, and
  • access resources to stay informed about developments in their fields.

By engaging with these groups, members contribute to advancing care standards and driving meaningful changes in practice.
