We recognize that physicians can face many challenges in their personal and professional lives, and we strive to provide tailored support informed by your needs to help you navigate them.

The Physician Health Program (PHP) offers a range of virtual support groups designed to enhance physician well-being through education, new skill development, and sharing experiences in a safe environment with peers. This spring, connect with your fellow colleagues in a virtual setting and access tools, resources, and insights to help you, both at work and at home.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Skills Group for Physicians and Medical Residents

PHP and Mind Space Skills for Wellbeing offer a CBT Skills Group for BC physicians and medical residents with mild to moderate mental health diagnoses. Participants will learn to manage anxiety, depression, and stress through CBT techniques, emotional regulation, mindfulness, and acceptance-based approaches. This group requires a diagnosis and completed referral form from your family physician or nurse practitioner.

The next session of this group will run on Tuesdays from April 14–June 2, from 5:15–7:00 p.m. Fill out the interest form for the CBT Skills Group.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Insomnia

For those interested in trying different tools and exploring their relationship with sleep, the CBT for Insomnia group is a change-oriented space that offers a wide range of resources to help improve sleep.

There are two upcoming cohorts of this group available for registration, both taking place on Wednesdays from 7:00–8:30 p.m.:

  • April 22–May 13, 2026
  • October 14–November 4, 2026

BIPOC Peer Support Group

This group offers a safe and supportive space for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) physicians to share their lived experiences in a non-judgmental environment and to find community.

The next four-week cohort of the BIPOC Peer Support Group runs each Wednesday from May 13–June 3, 2026, from 4:30–6:00 p.m. Register for the BIPOC Peer Support Group

Raising Resilient Kids

In partnership with Mind Space Skills for Wellbeing, this 8-week program supports physician parents of children aged 0–6 with evidence-based skills to strengthen caregiver-child relationships and support healthy development. This group requires the physician caregiver to be referred by a family physician or a nurse practitioner. The child does not need a specific diagnosis to be eligible to attend.

The next session of this group begins on Wednesday evenings from 5:15–7:15 p.m., from April 8 to May 27. Complete the Raising Resilient Kids interest form.
