Upcoming Events
Board approves funding for medical student scholarship
The Doctors of BC Board has approved $1.5 million for the creation of a Doctors of BC Presidential Scholars Award in Medicine for UBC medical students.
When combined with $500,000 approved in March, the scholarship will fund medical school costs for a top-rated applicant in financial need for all four years of studies.
The funding will be transferred from a reserve Doctors of BC account that was created to support scholarships. It will be held and invested by UBC, which is able to earn higher rates of return.
The scholarship is in addition to financial supports we provide through bursaries. These are just some of the ways that we are supporting our doctors of tomorrow.
