With all the health advice flooding our feeds and group chats, it can be difficult for your patients to know what and who to trust. Conflicting claims from influencers, wellness brands, and unverified online sources have made it harder than ever for people to know where to turn for credible guidance.
Canada’s physicians are increasingly seeing the impact of health misinformation firsthand. A recent survey by the Canadian Medical Association found that 97% of doctors have had to intervene to prevent harm or address consequences after a patient followed false or misleading information found online.
To help people find trustworthy health information more easily, Doctors of BC is launching Health Picks, a new campaign that brings practical advice and insights from physicians directly to the public. Every month, the campaign spotlights a doctor from across the province sharing timely health wisdom on topics that matter, helping people make more informed decisions about their health and well-being.
What sets Health Picks apart is who is behind it. Every feature is grounded in physician expertise, offering a perspective that no algorithm, influencer, or wellness trend can replicate.

Health Picks is an opportunity to share your expertise, address common questions and misconceptions, and help improve public understanding of important health issues. Doctors of BC invites physicians from all specialties and practice settings to participate in upcoming features.
