The Physician Services Committee (PSC) is a Joint Committee between the Government/Health Authorities and Doctors of BC created by the Physician Main Agreement (PMA). The PSC is the senior committee overseeing the work of the Joint Collaborative Committees, the implementation and administration of the Physician Main Agreement and the Physician Main Subsidiary Agreements and the overall relationship between the Government and the Doctors of BC.
The PSC has the authority to address provincial disputes under the PMA as well as quality of care complaints where they have not been resolved locally and where the physicians or health authority ask for assistance. In practice, disputes are resolved before they arrive at the PSC and the main function of the PSC has become to provide direction and oversight of the activities of the other joint committees of the Government and the Doctors of BC referred to in the PMA or the Physician Main Subsidiary Agreements.
