Since its inception in 2002, the FPSC has been working to improve access to quality, comprehensive primary care services across BC by strengthening longitudinal family practice as the foundation of an integrated system of care.
FPSC supports family physicians in providing comprehensive, longitudinal care that is coordinated and responsive to the needs of patients and communities. Its work focuses on advancing the Patient Medical Home model, which is the foundation of Primary Care Networks, and supporting Divisions of Family Practice. FPSC supports partnerships at the community, regional, and provincial levels to meet local needs and support system change. Through these efforts, FPSC helps ensure family practice remains the foundation of a strong, responsive, and sustainable health care system.
