Under the guidance and approval of the Doctors of BC Board of Directors, the IDEA Committee functions as a strategy-focused advisory committee that provides direction and recommendations on equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) priorities within governance, membership, and the medical profession:
- Advises the Board and Association on EDI issues within governance, membership, and the profession at large.
- Provides input on Board EDI goals and partners with staff on their implementation.
- Seeks diverse member input on EDI priorities and issues where feasible and relevant.
- Engages with relevant stakeholders to advance EDI objectives.
- Produces an annual report to inform members of the committee’s activities.
