We recognize the recent BC Supreme Court's judgment on International Medical Graduate Return of Service (ROS) obligations may have created some questions and uncertainty. International Medical Graduates and the ROS programs have been and continue to be tremendously valuable in supporting health care in rural areas.
It is imperative to continue to attract health care workers and increase health care access in rural, remote and underserved communities. Doctors of BC and the Ministry of Health share an interest in ensuring access to rural health care for patients and will work to ensure that is protected.
