2026 by-election timeline: Representative Assembly Speaker and Deputy Speaker

  • Call for Nominations opens: Tuesday, May 19, 2026
  • Call for Nominations closes: Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 11:59 p.m.
  • Deadline to withdraw nomination: Monday, June 15, 2026
  • Voting opens for RA members: Thursday, June 18, 2026 
  • Voting ends for RA members: Monday, July 20, 2026
  • Results announced: Tuesday, July 21, 2026

Nominations

Nominations are currently being accepted for the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Representative Assembly (RA) for the 2026 Doctors of BC By-election.

These two physician leader positions are nominated from amongst the membership and elected by the Representative Assembly, with terms of these appointments running for the remainder of the current term, ending December 31, 2026. Submitting your nomination

The fillable nomination form must be completed and submitted by email to the Chief Electoral Officer at voting@doctorsofbc.ca before the close of nominations on June 9, 2026.

Campaign and voting

The Representative Assembly elects the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Representative Assembly. Voting will open for RA members on June 18, and close on July 20, with results announced on July 21.
