Practice Support Program and Doctors Technology Office supports
Practice Support Program (PSP) and Doctors Technology Office (DTO) work together to support family physicians in implementing and enhancing their use of health technology platforms, like EMRs, AI scribes, and other integrated care programs, that improve workflow and efficiency while preserving quality, equity, privacy, and cultural safety.
PSP coaches provide foundational and quality improvement (QI) support for using AI scribe in primary care practices. Using a coaching approach, our team supports physicians to identify opportunities for improvement in their practice using AI scribe and identify measures to evaluate the success of implementing the change.
PSP offers support through:
- Individual coaching
- Group sessions
- Self-serve resources
- Peer Mentor Network
Some specific examples of how coaches support physicians:
- Guidance on evaluating and testing different AI scribe tools
- Establishing a consent workflow
- How to start incorporating into workflow and appropriate patients/visits
- Switching between mobile and computer and potential hardware needs
- Assessing time saved charting
- Creating patient and provider surveys to measure satisfaction
- Connecting primary care practices with AI Scribe Peer Mentors that can provide support to colleagues using a clinical and practical lens
