Dr Mauro Bertoia has been our family physician for over 30 years. He has seen four generations of our family. We are all very grateful to him for his amazing care, knowledgeable service and exceptional commitment to us and the practice of medicine. While we will miss him greatly, we wish him all the best in his retirement and future endeavours. – The Stephensons

A life-saving surgeon. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Sharadh Sampath. He is not only an exceptionally skilled surgeon, but someone I will always be profoundly grateful to. Dr Sampath performed my surgery and, quite simply, saved my life. Knowing that I was in his hands gave me an incredible sense of trust and reassurance during what was an extremely significant time in my life. There are moments in life that change everything, and having Dr Sampath as my surgeon was one of those moments.

I spoke to Dr Abiola Laju Imasogie who assisted me about my knee condition. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she is also very patient, kind, and has such a lovely bedside manner. She validates your struggles and pain and she has a calm demeanour about her that puts you at ease. I wish there are more physicians like her and I wish she was my family doctor.

Dr Kevin Wylie has been our family's physician since the early 90s. He is absolutely the most attentive and caring Dr you could hope to have. Dr Wylie gives you his complete attention, asks questions, arranges tests if needed and follows up every single time! Never have I experienced even close to the care he provides with any other physician I have had, and there have been quite a few! Thank you Dr Wylie! You are undoubtedly THE BEST!

Dr Tam Opusunju is my family doctor and is a very competent, kind, and caring person and physician. I have quite a few medical complications, and he has been absolutely amazing, guiding me through the bureaucracy of the health care system with empathy and due care. I feel very lucky to have found him at the time I did, as I would have been lost in the system without him.

This is a shout-out to Dr Sue Turgeon, a family physician in Vancouver and the past medical director at Little Mountain Place (LMP). Dr Turgeon was my first preceptor in family medicine when I was a medical student in 1989 and taught me how to interact with patients. Fast forward to 2026—I retired from medicine and started chaplaincy training at LMP. Once again, Dr Turgeon gave me pearls of wisdom on how to interact with patients with dementia. I'm so grateful for her presence. Thank you, Dr Turgeon!

Dr John Black has provided exceptional care. He is the only doctor who has taken the time to truly understand my condition and support me. He explains things with compassion, helped confirm my diagnosis, and follows my care closely as a specialist. His bedside manner is excellent. He is accessible, easy to talk to, and clearly committed to patient-centred care. I have never had a specialist this engaged in my health. I believe his work deserves recognition.

I would like to thank Dr Rita Wittman, of Langley's Internal Medicine group, for the huge contribution she makes every day to patient care and to the Langley medical community overall. Not only does she deliver high level evidenced based clinical assessments in consultation, but also empathetic personal communication to each patient—the one entity that every patient wishes for. It's hard to quantify what Rita brings to our medical system. As physicians and patients of Langley, we are blessed to have her in our community. The privilege is ours.

Thank you to Dr Nigel Myers, Dr John Shepherd, Dr Donna Forrest, Dr Gagandeep Kalia, all the nurses, and numerous health professionals. My mom benefited from a trial drug STI-571 now known as Gleevac. Thank you for not giving up, she is still alive 25 years later. Thanks for all the support.
