Thank a Doctor

Dr Rhonda Shuckett in Vancouver is the best doctor I’ve seen in this province (and I’ve seen my share!). She has an excellent bedside manner, is extremely knowledgeable, and is familiar with EDS specifically, which is few and far between. She is very down-to-earth, and you can really tell she wants the best for her patients. Thank you, Dr Shuckett!

Dr Eppler at Kelowna General Hospital deserves praise for her emergency department work. My husband got excellent care from her while he was there. She knows her stuff and is exceptionally kind. Thank you, Dr Eppler.

Dr Louw (psychiatrist) is a great doctor. He has helped me with my mental health journey and was sincere. If you want a change in your life for a standard yet blissful lifestyle, Dr Louw is the man. I felt like I was able to understand him clearly and that I had a lot of support. I hope you have a happy and successful career, Dr Louw.

Dr Janet Lyons is simply the best! I’ve been blessed to have her as my obstetrician for three pregnancies. Her bedside manners and knowledge are unmatched. She knows to slow down and be present during appointments—no matter how routine or behind she is. She never fails to point out how cute the baby looks on bedside ultrasound, even if baby looks somewhat like an alien. I had some difficulties with pain control in the past and she advocated for me so I could have a positive experience with my final delivery. I’d consider getting pregnant once more just to be in her care. Thank you, Dr Lyons!

Thank you Dr Melissa Gilles and all the Doctors at Lexitor Clinic. Dr Gilles always listens and takes time to ask questions and always follows up. I have been able to meet several of the other doctors as well when Dr Gilles has been unavailable. Being a teaching clinic, I get to see the new professionals coming into the system and enjoy being their patient to help them in their careers. Kudos to the MOAs too.

I just want to thank Dr Mauro Bertoia for being an excellent family doctor for our family. He was my doctor for 35 years and was very knowledgeable, kind, patient and compassionate. I wish him the best in his well deserved retirement. Thank you.

Dr Mauro Bertoia has been our family physician for over 30 years. He has seen four generations of our family. We are all very grateful to him for his amazing care, knowledgeable service and exceptional commitment to us and the practice of medicine. A life-saving surgeon. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr Sharadh Sampath. He is not only an exceptionally skilled surgeon, but someone I will always be profoundly grateful to. Dr Sampath performed my surgery and, quite simply, saved my life. Knowing that I was in his hands gave me an incredible sense of trust and reassurance during what was an extremely significant time in my life. There are moments in life that change everything, and having Dr Sampath as my surgeon was one of those moments.

I spoke to Dr Abiola Laju Imasogie who assisted me about my knee condition. Not only is she knowledgeable, but she is also very patient, kind, and has such a lovely bedside manner. She validates your struggles and pain and she has a calm demeanour about her that puts you at ease. I wish there are more physicians like her and I wish she was my family doctor.
