To promote a healthy lifestyle, doctors walk with patients in events across the province

March 15, 2023

We know that BC’s doctors treat patients when they need medical care, but doctors also care about supporting British Columbians when it comes to making healthy lifestyle decisions and maintaining good health. Walk with your Doc helps doctors promote positive change by walking with their patients and discussing the benefits of daily activity in informal, social settings in events happening in communities across the province. See Walk with your Doc in action right above.

Taking place May 6-14, 2023 Walk with your Doc (WWYD) is Doctors of BC’s annual public health campaign that gets British Columbians moving, builds community relationships, and shows that BC doctors “walk the talk.”

For doctors looking to lead a walk, once registered you will be provided with everything you need to organize a successful event, including WWYD t-shirts, promotional posters, participant gifts, and more. Walks can be limited to a small group of patients, or can be expanded to include your local division of family practice, local city councils, public health partners, and community members – there is no designated event size. For the public, information about walks in your area can be found on our Walk with your Doc page – you simply need to show up and be ready to walk.
