A message on BC Family Doctor Day

May 19, 2021

BC Family Doctor Day is acknowledged annually on May 19 to recognize the important work that the province’s more than 6,000 family doctors and primary care teams conduct across all our communities. The day also celebrates their commitment to comprehensive, longitudinal, and relationship-based care.

BC Family Doctor Day is held on the same day as World Family Doctor Day, an international celebration of family doctors. First declared in 2010, the theme of this year’s World Family Doctor Day is Building the Future with Family Doctors

In recognition of BC Family Doctor Day, here are messages of thanks and support from our President, Dr Matthew Chow and Dr Anthon Meyer, co-chair of GPSC:

Thank you BC family doctors for all that you do every day, for your patients, their families, and our communities, especially during our collective fight against COVID-19.
