New temporary COVID-19 fee codes for specialists and family physicians

Doctors of BC and the BC government have created new temporary fee codes to support COVID-19 related work and ongoing patient care. Effective March 27, there are new GPSC fee codes for family physicians and new SSC fee codes for specialist physicians. Full details on the new and updated fee codes can be found here.

Family physicians – The new GPSC fee codes expand accessibility and increase capacity to provide care. One new fee better enables communication between providers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Specialist physicians – One of the new SSC fee codes is for COVID-19 patients and is similar to an existing SSC fee. There is also a new fee to enable specialists to delegate patient follow up and to renew prescriptions.
