Committee funds doctors’ ideas for improvement

January 12, 2015

Do you have ideas on how to improve outcomes and the efficiency of care for your WorkSafeBC patients? Do you have ideas on how to improve communications or lower administrative barriers between physicians and WorkSafeBC?  If so, then Doctors of BC wants to hear from you.

Under our recent agreement with WorkSafeBC, the Doctors of BC-WorkSafeBC Projects and Innovation Committee was formed mainly to recognize the important perspective doctors have when it comes to treating injured workers. The purpose of the committee is to develop and implement pilot projects that aim to improve disability management of injured workers.

The committee is calling on doctors to submit any ideas, solutions or projects for consideration that can potentially improve the outcomes or efficiency of care for injured workers.

The proposed project must meet at least one of the committee’s strategic objectives:

  • Improving the quality of care of injured workers (i.e., effectiveness, timeliness, efficiency)
  • Improving early return to work outcomes for injured workers
  • Maximizing functional abilities for injured workers
  • Minimizing disability for injured workers
  • Improving administrative processes between physicians and WorkSafeBC for better outcomes

Applications can be submitted individually or through a group practice, department or Doctors of BC section.
