Create positive change in your workplace: Health Authority Engagement Survey 2021

Doctors of BC’s Health Authority Engagement Survey is a crucial part of our advocacy work on behalf of doctors across the province, and is the largest survey of its kind in Canada. As BC’s doctors continue to work through the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic, among many other challenges, your feedback has never been more important.

Now in its sixth year, the Health Authority Engagement Survey presents our members with the chance to tell us how you are feeling about engagement and interactions with your health authority, and/or local hospital.

Responses from our members help Doctors of BC build and focus programs and policies to more effectively support physician work taking place with their health authorities. By taking part in the survey, you assist Doctors of BC in advocating for what physicians need, driving the positive changes you seek.

How to take part

Members should have received their email invitation from View Email Addresssurveys@doctorsofbc.ca on Monday September 13 with the subject line: “Doctors of BC Health Authority Engagement Survey 2021”.

This year, the survey is being conducted by TWI Inc., as Health Standards Organization (HSO) is no longer conducting surveys. With permission, Doctors of BC continues to use select questions from HSO’s Physician Work Life Pulse Tool. TWI has conducted many other surveys for Doctors of BC, including the recent Member Engagement Survey.

What kind of questions are being asked?

This year, we are asking the same questions as in previous surveys on overall engagement and physician health and safety, as well as questions on valuing physician contributions and trust with medical leaders. There will also be optional demographic questions, which will help analyze gaps and/or challenges that may exist for different groups. These results will be aggregated in a way that maintains member confidentiality.

More details on the survey questions can be found in the President’s Letter, sent via email to members on September 9. Please be assured that member survey responses are entirely confidential.

The deadline to complete the survey is midnight, October 13, 2021. After completing the survey, you have the option of entering a draw to win one of two $1,000 gift cards to your choice of Staples or Canadian Tire.
