Mini-Profiles now available to members to review billings

February 16, 2017

All members who had fee for service earnings in 2015 can now access their individualized Mini-Profile which provides you with important and confidential billing information. Members who did not have any fee for service earnings in 2015 (i.e. new to practice or retired physicians) will not have a Mini-Profile to view.

Your Mini-Profile gives you important and confidential information about your billings. It tells you how your billings compare to other physicians in your peer group. If you are outside the statistical average, then you may be in a situation where you would need to justify that difference. The Mini-Profile enables you to take proactive steps to address any potential problems.

The online Mini-Profile does this by providing you with statistics based on your Medical Services Plan (MSP) payments for services provided in the 2015 calendar year, including any settlements or retroactive payments issued as of March 31, 2016.

Included in the data are claims paid by MSP, on behalf of ICBC and WCB. In addition, the GPSC and SSC fee codes are now reflected in your profile.

The profiles are an accurate reflection of claims submissions and payments made in the claims record, which identified you as the physician who provided the service, or in the case of referred services, identified you as the referring practitioner.

Your comparison group is the province-wide peer group into which you have been placed for 2015, and is determined by the type of services that you were paid for during that year.

The Mini-Profile is just one of the ways in which Doctors of BC provides value to our members. If you have any questions or require any additional information, please contact Juanita Grant, Audit and Billing Manager in the Physician and External Affairs Department at or 604 638 2829 (toll-free 1 800 665 2262).
