Governance and Physician Compensation - Message from President and Board Chair

December 20, 2016

Dear Colleagues:

A question has arisen regarding the impact of the proposed governance changes on how the Doctors of BC represents members in negotiations.

It is important for members to know that nothing has changed on this front. A new smaller Board will not have the power to impose a negotiated settlement on the members. The existing negotiation committee structure will continue, including the ongoing requirement that members approve a tentative agreement through referendum. The new governance structure will not alter or create any risks with respect to members’ compensation.

We encourage you to cast your ballot in this important referendum. For more information on the proposed new governance model go to https://www.doctorsofbc.ca/news/governance-referendum-smaller-board-fair....

All eligible members were sent an email from Everyone Counts Canada (ECC) on Tuesday, December 6th inviting you to cast your vote. The email includes a link to the voting site, as well as all necessary login information. If you did not receive this email or you have questions regarding the proposed changes, please contact .

Sincerely,

Dr Alan Ruddiman, President, Doctors of BC
Dr Mark Corbett, Chair of the Board, Doctors of BC
