New annual report: A year of innovation and progress

May 22, 2015

Doctors of BC is making a meaningful difference to physicians and patients all over the province – in fact, there are so many positive things going on it’s hard to select just a few to talk about in our 2014-15 Doctors of BC Annual Report. Here are the stories of progress, collaboration, and innovation that help bring 2014-15 to life:

Partners in progress

  • Opening a portal to youth mental health resources
  • Redesigning the way we treat hip fractures
  • Reducing polypharmacy reduces risks and improves lives
  • End-of-life care enriched by planning

Supporting innovation

  • First-of-its-kind initiative to support facilities-based physicians
  • Transforming ourselves: Strong traditions and new directions
  • Innovative approach mentors students toward rural medicine

Making a meaningful difference

  • A GP for Me addresses physician shortages at grassroots level
  • Building healthy communities by supporting healthy choices
  • Engaging with the doctors of tomorrow

The stories are brief, but link to more information so you can dig deeper if you wish. There are links to other articles, videos, reports, policy papers, and so on. The 2013-14 annual report was available both online and in print, but you told us you had little interest in print, so this year’s report is entirely online – though it’s print-enabled if you want a hardcopy. We’ve made it “shareable” on social media tools like Linked In and Twitter.

And of course there are the core elements you expect from every annual report – reports from the CEO, President, and Chair of the Board; there are financial highlights, a link to the full financial statements, and reports from all Doctors of BC committees in the White Report. We also include an online survey so you can tell us what you think about the report – and be eligible to win a fabulous night (and included breakfast) at the Pan Pacific on Vancouver’s waterfront – in one of their exclusive Pacific Club Harbour rooms.
