Help us recognize our family doctors
Family Doctor Week
November 7 – 11
The week of November 7th marks the 13th annual Family Doctor Week, and Doctors of BC would like to join the College of Family Physicians of Canada in acknowledging the outstanding contributions of family doctors across the country for their dedication to their patients and to the delivery of high-quality health care.
Whether you call them family doctors, family physicians or GPs, they are the foundation of our primary health care system, and they play a critical role in the health and well-being of BC’s population. Often times the relationship between patient and family doctor is one of the most trusted in health care. And here in BC, family doctors are at the centre of helping redesign our primary health care system to better meet our challenges, and to ensure their patients are able to access quality care in a timely manner.
Doctors of BC wants to recognize the work of our great family doctors in BC, and encourages patients and fellow family doctors throughout the province to share a story of how your family doctor or colleague has supported you and your community. We encourage you to follow @DoctorsofBC and @FamPhysCan and share your story using the hashtag #LoveMyFamilyDoc. You can also email your stories to and we’ll share it via Twitter or on our website.
