Doctors of BC congratulates graduating Residents

June 25, 2015

In keeping with our commitment to better engage with our doctors of tomorrow, Doctors of BC hosted its second annual Resident Graduation Dinner in Vancouver on Friday, June 19, 2015.

Completing residency is a significant milestone in a young doctor’s life and career, and this annual event is our way of acknowledging this rite of passage, commemorating this achievement and welcoming these new graduates into the profession.
Approximately 100 graduating residents, friends and family – some of whom traveled from as far as China – enjoyed a wonderful evening, and had the opportunity to mingle and celebrate with fellow grads, as well as representatives from UBC, the Canadian Medical Association, Resident Doctors of BC and Doctors of BC.

In an inspirational congratulatory speech, Dr Charles Webb, Doctors of BC President, told the graduates that they are our doctors of tomorrow – the future our of profession – and that each one of them has the ability to make a meaningful difference in our health care system. He encouraged them to become leaders in the health profession, and dared them to be innovative in their ideas. Graduating resident and fellow classmate Dr Darwin Wan also spoke, acknowledging this major milestone and the long journey it has taken to achieve it.

Congratulations to graduating residents of 2015 – you did it!
