Incorporating your practice can be highly complex. If you choose to incorporate, the company will become the owner of your practice, and you in turn will own shares of the corporation and remain personally responsible for your professional actions. Professional incorporation is a long-term commitment and you must be willing to undertake all the necessary steps to ensure that you can enjoy the tax and wealth enhancement benefits that this strategy is designed to achieve.

This talk will provide the groundwork on what it means to incorporate and why. Walk through a few examples, discuss advantages of different structures and review the proposed changes to corporate taxation on private businesses in Canada.
