Be Active Every Day is an annual Doctors of BC initiative to help kids be more active and make healthy choices. In partnership with their local elementary school, doctors across BC coordinate a month-long challenge to kids: Be active 60 minutes every day in October.
Bike stars, Sean Fincham and Miranda Miller, coach children through the event with a series of video challenges. In these videos, the Live 5-2-1-0 concept is explored with discussion on healthy eating, limiting screen time, getting in 60 minutes of activity daily, and avoiding sugar sweetened drinks.
Sean Fincham competes nationally and internationally in road, mountain, and track bikes. His main focus is cross country and in 2015 he represented BC at the Western Canada summer games and Team Canada in the Mountain Bike world cup. Miranda Miller competes nationally and internationally in the world cup circuit. In 2015 she represented Team Canada at the Mountain Bike World Cup.
